How long does it take to have windows replaced?
On average, it takes us 2-3 hours to replace a window or a door. That means we can typically fit 3-4 windows or doors a day. Bear in mind that's an average: sometimes we can do more if working conditions are easy, and other times fewer if things are complicated – or if you're having a large sliding door fitted, for example. We always put 2 tradespeople on each window/door, as that's the quickest and best way to do it.
I just want a quote – I don't want a survey
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but we'll have to politely decline. We only give quotes where we've done the measuring up ourselves and seen your home – otherwise we can't stand 100% behind the final solution. We always take account of all the little details that often get overlooked, such as access, proximity to load-bearing beams, and plumbing or electrical installations.
What guarantee do you offer on your windows?
You get a minimum 5-year guarantee on all new doors and windows, in line with the standard product guarantee in Denmark. Some products even come with a 10-year guarantee (we'll point you to which ones). On top of that, you get a 2-year guarantee on the delivery/installation itself.
Who comes to install the windows?
It's always qualified carpenters who fit your new windows or doors. Several even hold the title of master window fitter. We work with selected partner firms, so you may see the carpenters wearing a shirt with a company name other than Nye Vinduer. We'll always let you know which partner we're using for your project.
Are all your carpenters Danish?
Most of our carpenters are Danish, but we also have a few from abroad. We don't distinguish by nationality – we look at who's best at the job. All our non-Danish-speaking carpenters speak English.
My home is quite unusual. Can you handle one-off requests?
Yes, we can. All windows and doors can be made to measure, tailored precisely to your home. You're also guaranteed thorough advice - and plenty of inspiration - with our 25+ years' experience.
You're called Nye Vinduer – are you any good with doors too?
Yes – in fact, we're at least as good with doors. Through a tradesperson's eyes, it's the same kind of job: a hole in the wall, and in goes an element that opens and closes. So when we say windows, we really mean the lot – windows, doors, carports, New Yorker walls and anything else you're dreaming of that opens and closes.
